The English Teacher is a short drama film about an English teacher and one of his students. The teacher lives alone and feels lonely after losing his wife. His everyday life has become quiet and unhappy.
One day, one of his students writes him a letter and asks for English lessons because he has an important exam in a week. The teacher accepts and begins teaching him. As they spend more time together, the teacher becomes happier and starts enjoying his life again. The student gives him a reason to communicate with someone and feel useful.
Later, the student sends him a video and reveals a shocking secret. He explains that he accidentally hit the teacher’s wife with his car. He was frightened, left the place, and did not help her. He then offers the teacher money to say sorry. The teacher is deeply shocked and goes to the student’s home, but he has already left.
The film is about loneliness, guilt, regret, and the effect people can have on each other’s lives. I liked the film because it was emotional, surprising, and had an unexpected ending.
