Edmond Keosayan, the renowned Armenian Soviet film director, received education in various fields before fully dedicating himself to the art of cinema.
He was born on October 9, 1936, in Leninakan (now Gyumri), Armenia.
From 1952 to 1954, he worked at the Yerevan watch factory.
Then, from 1954 to 1956, he studied at the Plekhanov Moscow Institute of Economics.
However, his love and passion for the arts led him to the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, where he studied as a compere from 1956 to 1958.
Continuing his professional development, in 1964 he graduated from the Directing Department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow, under the mentorship of Efim Dzigan.
